Team as a Service: When You Need a Team, Not Another IT Department
In this interview, ProRocketeers co-founder Pavel Knapek explains the model we work with: Team as a Service (TaaS), a way to deliver software services without having to hire new employees.

Pavel, how would you explain Team as a Service to a potential customer?
With TaaS, a company gets more than individual contractors: it gets an established team of IT specialists with a clearly defined goal and responsibility for the outcome. The client does not have to handle recruitment, people management, turnover, or administration. They can focus on the business value.
What are the main advantages of TaaS over hiring your own employees?
The main advantage is flexibility. You can scale the team up or down as your needs change, without long-term commitments or the costs associated with employee turnover.
You also save on the costs and obligations that come with being an employer. There is no need to manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll contributions, or employee absences. Compared with the agency model, you get the quality, stability, and accountability that are often missing.

What is the key difference compared with agency recruitment?
An agency supplies individual employees whose skills and soft skills may not have been thoroughly vetted. They may not have the tech stack you need, or they may not be a good technical or personal fit for the rest of the team. TaaS gives you a proven, cohesive team that is ready to deliver.
Who benefits most from TaaS?
Most often:
- fast-growing companies and startups
- manufacturing companies with transformation initiatives or project needs
- organisations that repeatedly struggle with employee turnover or agency capacity
TaaS is ideal whenever you need to get things done now, rather than waiting three months to hire.
What do companies value most in practice?
Above all:
- immediate contribution without a long onboarding period
- a stable team with its own leadership
- minimal administration
- access to a broad pool of specialists from our own team and partner network, Rocket Galaxy
Can you tell us more about the Rocket Galaxy partner network?
ProRocketeers has 70 specialists. Rocket Galaxy, which brings together ten partner companies, adds more than 200 trusted professionals. We help one another on projects: if we urgently need to expand a team with a specialist we know and trust, our partners step in, and we do the same for them. This lets us respond quickly to change while maintaining high delivery quality without interruptions.

How does a TaaS partnership work?
It is straightforward:
- The customer defines what they need.
- We propose a team and a solution.
- We agree on goals and communication.
- The team delivers results.
- The client can scale the engagement or end it at any time.
Is it true that ProRocketeers has been offering free analyses since 2026?
Yes. When a client comes to us with an idea or a project that is not fully defined yet, we now offer technical consultations and analyses free of charge. These analyses take time, which makes the offer especially valuable to clients.

Thanks for the interview!
